Jose Juan Bautista is the JP Morgan Chase Endowed Professor of Economic Solutions to Business Problems in the Division of Business at Xavier University of Louisiana. A faculty member of Xavier since 1978, Dr. Bautista received his Ph.D. in Economics from Tulane University, a Master’s of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in General Business Administration from the University of New Orleans. His teaching and research interests are in the areas of political economy and religion and economics. Dr. Bautista is Xavier’s liaison with the Louisiana Council for Education, a member of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Louisiana Historical Society, an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Interdisciplinary Civic and Political Studies, current member of the Mount Carmel Academy and St. Clement of Rome school boards, and a past member of the Board of Advisors of the Benigno Aquino Jr. Memorial Foundation. In 2008, Dr. Bautista was a recipient of the St. Louis Medal from the Archdiocese of New Orleans for Outstanding Services to St. Clement of Rome Parish.
